Miami is home to some of the tallest office buildings in the nation, with a high concentration of skyscrapers in Brickell, the city’s central business district. At its origins in the early 20th century, the neighborhood became known as “Millionaire’s Row,” after the construction of lavish mansions along Brickell Avenue. Office towers, hotels and apartments started to replace the mansions by the 1970s.
