Carney Gets U.K. Housing Reprieve as Overheating Concerns Ease

Mark Carney has done enough for now to prevent the housing market from overheating, according to economists, who forecast that price gains will be limited to single digits in 2015.

As the Bank of England governor prepares for a meeting of the Financial Policy Committee, almost 80 percent of respondents to Bloomberg’s monthly survey said the panel shouldn’t take steps to cool the housing market this month. The survey also showed that there’s less concern about instability than a year ago, when Carney announced curbs on mortgage lending
