Asahi Group Offers to Buy Peroni and Grolsch for $2.9 Billion

Asahi Group Holdings of Japan said on Wednesday that it had made a binding offer to buy the beer brands Peroni and Grolsch, as well as certain European operations of SABMiller, for 2.55 billion euros, or about $2.9 billion.

Anheuser-Busch InBev is hoping the sale will help to ease regulators’ concerns about its nearly $103 billion merger with SABMiller, which owns the Peroni and Grolsch brands…
