Mixed-Use Project Underway in Alexandria

Washington, D.C.—Retail real estate developer EDENS recently announced that the company broke ground on a mixed-use project that includes retail and residential space in Alexandria, Va. The firm joined hands with Gables Residential to develop the apartment units. The development project is slated to come online in 2019.
Located at 530 First St., the property will encompass 50,000 square feet of community-centered space and 232 residences. The LEED-Certified property also includes the addition of a Capital Bikeshare station, an enhanced streetscape and on-site public art. The development will be located less than 10 miles from downtown D.C. and is close to a broad range of urban amenities.
