Dollar Advances to Highest Since 2007 Against Yen on Fed Outlook

The dollar rose to the strongest in almost eight years against the yen after comments on interest rates from Federal Reserve Chair Janet Yellen last week enticed traders returning from a holiday.

The U.S. currency gained versus all its 16 major peers after Yellen said Friday it would be “appropriate” to raise borrowing costs this year for the first time since 2006 if the economy improves.
